Thank you very much, i will be reading forum from now to find some things for me, first one is food, raw BARF or not?
That is my first and biggest problem. So far they have eaten TOTW and home made food just for them, i was having problems in the begining trying to find the right food for them, Royal Canine, Hill's, Purina PRO plan, K9, and now is TOTW and home made meath and vegies.

So if you have opinion about raw food please share it with me.

Thanks again.

You've come to the right place for advice on feeding your Huskies RAW.
Please have a read through the "Raw Feeding" Advice area of the forum and ask questions as you go if you're unsure of how to get started.

I have 2 questions. First, does the dog gets everything that he needs in just raw food or i need to buy extra vitamines?
Second, how to kill possible bacterias in raw food? I will die if they get sick from somekind of bacteria.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Vjeko.
I hope you enjoy it here as much as everyone else does.
You have come to the right place for information on feeding your Husky a "Raw" diet.
As said above read through the raw feeding section this along with many of our members will guide you through and get you on the right tracks to feeding. Once you have transitioned your Husky over to "Raw" you wont look back.

I thought that might be what you were worried about, below is a list of what i feed my 3 year old sibe and my lab collie cross.
250grammes of chicken for breakfast.
for tea they get a bag containing,
100grammes of beef heart,
100grammes of beef or lamb,
50grammes of mackerel or sardines
and 100grammes of pork.
and 25grammes of beef or pigs liver, (if you feed more than that you can give them either the runs or vitamin A toxicity(poisoning)
all mixed in one bag.
storms is a northern inuit and he gets the same for tea but he also eats around a kilo of chicken split between the two meals.
They are having a whole rabbit each for tea tonight and the only thing i will remove is the gut and intestines as it smells awful and it will make the dogs pong, they will eat the fur, head and brain everything including the teeth.
There is no need to worry about bacteria in the meat, a dogs stomach acid is that strong it kills everything.
However i think you may have to freeze your pork where you are and any food caught from the fields or rivers or sea must be frozen for a week first which will kill anything off.
Someone will correct me if i am wrong but i think that's all there is really.
As for supplements you do not need to feed them unless you can't get oily fish then you need to feed either a tinned substitute from a supermarket or a fish oil supplement.Hope that helps a bit more and eases any worries you have.

Firstly your Husky will get everything that he needs from just raw food the only supplement you will need if he wont eat raw fish is fish body oil capsules.
Secondly you can get far more dangerous bacteria from commercial food. If you prepare his raw food exactly the same as you do your own then all will be fine.

Start in the raw feeding advice section with the 12 commandments and work your way down the list in that whole section.
If you need any help or have any questions just shout out or post up a question and we will all guide you.

Hi Amon,
no supplements are required as long as you feed RAW correctly and follow the guidelines that are set out in the Raw Feeding area of the forum.
No vegetables or fruit are required.

Basically you have to feed 2-3% of your dogs ideal adult body weight and include various types of meat and fish.

You feed that as 80% meat, 10% bone, 5% organ & 5% offal. Ideally the meat would be fed on the bone.

A couple of tablespoons of natural yogurt and 2 eggs with the shells can be given each week too.

As Bev mentioned, Huskys' digestive systems works differently to ours so no need to worry about bacteria such as Salmonella with a healthy dog.

All food that is fit for human consumption can be fed RAW but animals or fish caught in the wild should be frozen before feeding, I'd suggest 2 weeks to be on the safe side.

Food can be fed frozen, your dogs won't mind.

Liver should not be fed in excess as this can give your dogs the runs.

Monitor their poo, too hard or if the show signs of constipation increase meat and reduce bone, too runny then increase the bone.

Please list what meat products including offal and organ that you have access to and we can design a menu for you to get you started.

Hope this helps,
Steve
